FAQ

A Fine Art Print is a reproduction of an original artwork. The original painting or drawing is scanned or photographed using professional equipment. The digital files are then meticulously edited and colour corrected until they are a perfect match to the original. Finally, the artworks are archivally printed using very fancy printers by professionals with decades of experience. If Archival prints are looked after and correctly framed, their colours, paper and details should last 200 years!

Fine Art Prints are truly artworks in their own right. All of our print collections are limited edition, meaning that there will only ever be a handful of people who have the same print as you.

When you choose a Fine Art Print, it is an extension of who you are, it brings meaning into your space and it has real value.

All artworks, both originals and prints, are packaged using materials that are either recycled, reused, compostable or made from paper. Please expect to see some wear and tear on materials like bubble- wrap as it means I am reusing it from a package I have received, in an endeavour to never buy any plastic packaging materials.

After drying, original artworks are lovingly and securely packaged based on their size and medium. Smaller artworks may be shipped in sturdy mailer envelopes and larger artworks will either be shipped flat or rolled into tubes. These decisions are taken depending on the substrate of the artwork, as well as size and medium. For artworks on canvas, custom made shipping boxes are ordered from specialist art packaging suppliers. Larger canvas sizes may be shipped unstretched and rolled into mailer tubes. These would need to be taken to your local framer for stretching. Specialist shipping can be arranged if you would prefer your large canvas to be stretched when it arrives, please enquire about this service.

Prints sized A5 to A3 are packaged in tissue paper and custom made, sturdy mailer envelopes, and further protected with a layer of (reused) bubble wrap.

The larger print sizes (A2 to A0+) are rolled in tissue paper and then into mailer tubes before shipping.

Shipping costs cover courier fees, premium packaging supplies, time and labour. Every effort is made to reduce shipping costs by applying a flat rate wherever possible.

Please handle your prints with the utmost care. The printed surface should not be touched, and excessive re-rolling of prints should be avoided. Ideally, your prints should be taken directly to your framer before unrolling, or if you are desperate to sneak a peak (I know I certainly don’t have that kind of patience!), unrolled and then transported flat to your framer.

I would always recommend professional framing over DIY framing. Professional framers understand the measures necessary to safely frame your artwork with longevity in mind, protecting the precious papers from light exposure, dust and general wear and tear.

Always ask your framer to use acid-free tapes only. This ensures that no yellowing of the paper occurs.

That said, there are some beautiful DIY options available that are a bit easier on the budget. I recommend frames from Country Road and KNUS – for a premium look.

Please contact me if you are looking for professional framers, as I have a few recommendations to pass on.

I retain all rights to all artworks that I create. You can read more about copyright here. This includes the rights to the images of sold and commissioned original paintings. I hold the sole rights to make reproductions of all artworks that I create unless the collector has purchased full or partial rights to do so, in addition to purchasing the original.

When you purchase an artwork or print, you may not reproduce the artwork in any way without written permission. Along with purchasing the artwork, you purchase limited rights to display (and enjoy!) the artwork in your own home or business. If the artwork appears in any photography that is due to be published in any way, I may ask to be credited.

You are welcome to send me an email here if you are interested in purchasing the full or partial rights to your artwork, including the rights to ensure that your original artwork is not reproduced into prints.
